Castle Dracula

(Castle Dracula, Romania)

I spent the night in Dracula's castle. Scary stuff. I recently contributed the story to the Arlington Heights Herald near Chicago. Check it out...

Castle Dracula

Where's the scariest place you've ever been?

A centuries old plague-house beneath the streets of Edinburgh, where a family had been walled up inside to die. That's one way to stop an epidemic. A historical scholar leading a night-time tour took us down there: there was only three of us, including him. It was...atmospheric.

Other places which sort of got under my skin, but in the creepy way that I like were the Paris Catacombs, literally miles and miles of skulls, and the Cappucin Monks crypt in a church in Rome, where the chandeliers are made from human bones and mummified monks lean against the walls. :)

I liked the article, by the way. Right up my alley! :)
